My First Mission

The family I interviewed has only had their children in school for a couple of months. They feel the quality of education their children are receiving in Modesto is decreasing to a worrisome quality. They feel their children will be ill-prepared for their future academic careers. Because of this, this family is trying to be more hands on when it comes to academics.

Being the superhero that I am, I planned to do something about the shortcomings of Modesto’s education system. First, I will send information to the parents of Modesto city school students regarding budget cuts and how those budget cuts will affect the education of their children. With this information I will include suggestions and ideas about how parents can fill the gap left by the budget cuts. I will also establish several supplemental education centers near existing Modesto City schools. These centers will focus on activities that have been cancelled in schools due to budget cuts, for example, art, music, and sports.

Me growing crops at an accelerated rate!

I’ll use my super power of the ability to grow plants in lightining speed to help local farmers with their crops in exchange for donations to fund my education centers! Other than this, my superpowers are pretty useless for this mission...unless there's an evil janitor >_>

  1. Very interesting how you used the farmers when a lot of people went after the politicians.. very nice.

  2. That's pretty nice of you! If I had such awesome super powers, I'd probably set up my own business. Sure, I'd donate some to the kiddies (for the tax breaks), but all of it? That takes a real nice person.

  3. Yes, it's so important to inform the parents. Get their attention and get them involved.

  5. Good use of powers, and its sad to see the schools going down the drain when education is extremely essential.

  10. thats a cool super power, the power to gaze at crops and make them grow. we dont need more schools we need better more educated and accountable professionals that cant waste funds on things like corrupt bloated salaries for superintendants and school board members. there is no reason they should absorb so much for what they do.
